Garden) which forms short top whorls of bright green leaflets on short stalks. Perhaps a new species; or likely the more current or more correct name for Cyperus alternifolius (which species is supposedly only native to Madagascar)! Be warned: if brought into your house for wintering, your cats will quickly devour it with potential resulting upchucks revealing remarkable colorings.

66973 EICHHORNIA SPECIES MINIATURE PON TGH PRICE: $ 6.75 A marvelous "Dwarf Water Hyacinth" from Crystal Palace Perennials; does well indoors during the winter (with very bright light or grolites) until you can release it late spring into your outdoor pool or aquatic tub where it forms a dome of swollen blatter foliage and cute erect flower spikes. Far easier and definitely more visually attractive than the usual species form clogging the Everglades.

40246 EQUISETUM DIFFUSUM EQU HP CGH AQ PRICE: $ 8.75 "Tropical Horsetail" Soft gray green central stems form a tiny bamboo-like thicket: each central stem, with delicately nodding tip, is ringed with skirts of lateral stemlets to create intricate patterns; marvelous pot plant. Will survive some winters in our zone if the ground barely freezes, but best grown as a cool greenhouse subject.

If allowed to chill or slightly dry during the winter this bulb will drop its foliage, but the ivory edged strap leaves emerge again vigorously in the spring.
