This collection is the basic for a starting terrarium. See the photos. We offer ground covers, accent plants, and miniature tree-like subjects; this collection will include enough to make the beginning terrarium look somewhat finished. Be sure to include a rock or two or other accent objects. You need to include in the notes section of the invoice what size terrarium you are working with and any particular plants you like so that we have an idea what plant groups to pull for your terrarium order. Remember to use a bit of activated charcoal to keep contaminates from causing dampoff in the new terrarium. You can get this from any Tropical Fish Store.

Don't forget that stunning desert terrariums can also be assembled with Anacampseros,Hawarthia, mini ALoes, Gasterias, Sedums, Ledebouria, Portulaca, mini Sanseviearias, Cynotis, that 'possum skull you found last fall, and many other lizard compatible selections. Never give up if the "Iron Cross" foliage suddenly dries and disappears, random mini-dormancies are the norm (even in the greenhouse)--the succulent surface rhizomes will soon produce a new set of its remarkably beautiful leaves when its environment improves. The Flame Violets below are the one we expect to have available this Fall. When the warmer weather, things always change. If you cannot keep your temps consistently above 58 degree Fahrenheit, then do not try them. We are working to introduce again a group of Episcea that we have not offered for a while. We have the following for shipment in the spring. If you have keep these under lights or in a good window, Flame Violets can bloom all winter long.
